Congratulations to the following SAARA athletes who were selected to represent South Africa at the 2022 ISSF Junior world cup match in Suhl, Germany late this year. All of the best in your preparations for this event and continue with the hard work and dedication you have shown over the last year and during the Covid-19 lockdown period. Your efforts will be rewarded.
Congratulations to Suné Boshoff for setting a new SAARA National Junior Ladies record in the 10M Olympic discipline at the 2020 North West Open Championships on 26 February 2022.
Suné scored a 613.7 in the decimal scoring system. An excellent performance making SAARA and South Africa proud.
We had a very successful 2021 SAARA National Championship that was hosted by North-West on 8 and 9 October 2021 and it was heart-warming to see so many of our top athletes on the range despite the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions. We witnessed some excellent shooting and the competition was very close, particularly among the ladies, where the tension in the qualifying rounds was very high and ties had to be broken twice in the finals.
The 2021 National champions for the various disciplines are:
Georgia de Waal – 10m Sporter Women
Emile Hugo – 10m Sporter Men
Arabella Barco – 10m Olympic Women
AD Le Hanie – 10m Olympic Men
Congratulations to all the athletes who took part and achieved some great results and thanks to the parents and supporters of the sport for the work that went into the preparation of the athletes throughout the year. A special thanks the organisers and officials who worked behind the scenes to make a great success of this event.
Johan Pienaar - SAARA President.
Congratulations to Tanya Snyders for setting a new SAARA National Senior Ladies record in the 10M Olympic discipline at the SAARA Gauteng Open Championships on 24 April 2021.

An excellent performance making SAARA and South Africa proud. Keep up the good work Tanya, you are a true ambassador for the sport and a role model to all our yough athletes.
